Purpose built central sterilisation room approved by RQIA

October 30th, 2013

Our new central sterilisation room.As many of our patients will know, last year we extended the premises to include a purpose built central sterilisation room. Previously each surgery had its own steriliser in the room where all instruments were dealt with but new legislation was introduced regulating the decontamination and infection control within a dental practice. Now all the sterilisation of instruments at the practice is carried out in this designated area.

The Regulation and Quality Improvement Authority (RQIA) is Northern Ireland’s independent health and social care regulator. They encourage continuous improvement in the quality of health and social care services through a programme of inspections and reviews.

We completed an inspection from the regulation and quality improvement authority in September 2013 and were found to be compliant in all of the aspects required.

So you can be assured that we provide high quality dental treatment in a clean and sterile environment carried out by fully trained and qualified staff.

Buy A Brick!!
Christmas Hamperbox

As you know, every year we raise money for a local charity, and this year we have chosen The Northern Ireland Hospice. As I am sure you are aware, the Hospice is in the process of raising money to build a new Hospice and their campaign this year is Buy a Brick.

We are hoping, with the generosity of our patients to buy many bricks for this good cause. We are selling raffle tickets in the practice for a beautiful M&S Hamper filled with lots of Christmas goodies. The prize will be drawn on Friday 20th December so one lucky winner will get an extra Christmas treat. Tickets are only £1.00 and we would appreciate your kind support.

Success For The Practice

October 19th, 2013

The Regulation and Quality Improvement Authority (RQIA) is Northern Ireland’s independent Health and social care regulator. In September of this year we had our annual practice inspection from the organisation. As well as interviewing members of the team, and checking our practice policies and protocols, the assessor spent the morning observing our nurses in our purpose built sterilisation room.

The assessor found our practice to be compliant in all the required fields.

This just confirms the high standards we continue to set and achieve.

Investors In People

IIP specialises in transforming business performance through its people. We attained the IIP Standard a number of years ago and every three years we are reassessed to ascertain that we are still meeting the requirements of the standard.

I am happy to say that our IIP status has been renewed following a day of intensive interviews.

Why not make an appointment to see our Hygienist

October 14th, 2013

Ruth and Louise our Dental Hygienists play a key role in the oral health of our patients. As well as carrying out scaling and polishing on teeth, and treatment of gum disease, they educate our patients on the care of their mouth and provide them with an oral health plan to help maintain healthy teeth and gums.

Due to new legislation you can now have access to our Hygienists without referral from the dentist. Although we do recommend that you attend the dentist on a regular basis, if you wish to see our Hygienist just give us a call and we can arrange an appointment to suit you.
