Our dental nurses are all qualified and adhere to the regulations governing the dental profession.

Elaine Jones

elaine1I began working at Affinity Dental Care in 1995 as a trainee dental nurse. In 2000 after successfully passing my examinations I gained the National Certificate for Dental Nurses and achieved my goal to become a qualified dental nurse. I enjoy the fact that I am continually learning new skills and attending training courses to further my knowledge. It makes my job all the more interesting. I love my work and the interaction I have with my patient’s. Being able to make a patients journey a pleasant one gives me great satisfaction.

I have worked at Affinity dental Care for 14 years now, and have had a career in dentistry for over 30 years. I would be the more mature member of the team and can be relied on in a crisis. I suppose you could say I am the mother figure of the practice. I gained my National Certificate in Dental Nursing in 2002 and continually learn and develop my career through ongoing training.

I live locally, am married to David and have two grown up sons and two lovely dogs. In my spare time I love knitting, reading and dressmaking

Heather Guild

heather1I began my career as a Dental Nurse in 2004 and joined the team at Affinity in 2007. After qualifying as a Dental Nurse in 2006 I went on to gain a Certificate in Oral Health Education. This enables me to offer personalised oral health and dietary advice to our patients, both children and adults , as part of our preventitive dentistry programme. Currently I am a volunteer for the Royal National Institute for Deaf People and am also learning  sign language which I hope will help me to make dentistry more accessible to a wider section of the community.

Julie Cairns

julieI joined the practice in 2006 on a temporary contract covering maternity leave. This was a great experience for me. Unfortunately at that time there was no permanent post available and I had to find other employment.  A position became available in 2009 and I joined the team again as a Trainee Dental Nurse. I mainly work along side Joanne, but help out with Lesley and Zara as and when required.
